Holy Spirit: The Revealer of things to come (Part 1)

Text:John 16:5-15.

What privileges do you have? What makes you stand out in the crowd? As a child of God, the Holy Spirit is one of the privileges you have on earth. While you're on earth is when you need this privilege. The question is are you truly a child of God?

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God."

Romans 8:14 NKJV

"But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future]."John 16:13 AMP

The major issue going on in the Body of Christ these days is we have left the Holy Spirit and we're just doing our thing. The problem is we can't survive on our own. Without the Holy Spirit, we're nothing! Some believers don't depend on the Holy Spirit for directions anymore, they copy the world and use common sense instead of using their spiritual senses.

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans12:2 NLT

Prayer Points

• I disconnect myself from the behaviour and customs of this world in Jesus name.
• Oh God transform me into a new man - the person that you want me to be.
• Change the way I think oh God. Let my thoughts conform to your will.
• Help me to know your will Lord.

Human being is a spirit being; therefore, you need to train your spirit to be tuned to God at all times.

"But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil."

Hebrews 5:14 AMP

How can we do this? How do you train your spirit to be in tune with the Spirit of God? How can one hear from God?

• Study the word of God and meditate on the word. Joshua 1:8
• Live according to the word of God. "But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]." James 1:22 AMP
• Obedience
• Wait upon the Lord
• Pray in the Holy Spirit. 

"But you, beloved, build yourselves up on [the foundation of] your most holy faith [continually progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], pray in the Holy Spirit," Jude 1:20 AMP

"The spirit (conscience) of man is the lamp of the Lord , Searching and examining all the innermost parts of his being".

Proverbs 20:27 AMP

This tells me that you can diagnose yourself / know yourself if your spirit is tuned. When we eat, we build our bodies;  with education, we build our minds. In contrast, we neglect our spirit, we let the economy and the world determine our future instead of giving the Holy Spirit audience, we listen to the world. The problem is you don't know how to hear from God. Let's call a spade a spade!

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come to you today; save me and I shall be saved. Heal me and I shall be healed. Forgive me of all my sins (confess them). Have mercy on me. Come and be the Lord over my spirit, soul and body. Help me not to go back to my old way of life - give me a new beginning. I am yours Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen
