Gamblers in the Church.

I gambled a few times when I was in elementary school. If you're from Yoruba land, you might remember "kalokalo". It is a coin operated gambling machine. You will put a coin in it and press the button. You may get a few coins or a lot of coins back. On the contrary, you may not get anything back. The reality is you don't get any coins back most of the time. It's fun to play kalokalo if you're winning; however, you can lose all your money if you don't have self control. This is one of the interesting memories of my childhood. I have so many of them! 

It's so sad how believers gamble away their destiny these days. How?

By playing rock/paper/scissors in their decision making. 

By flipping a coin - head/tail before they make decisions.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones."

Where is the place of the Holy Spirit in your life?

Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit. 

"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future."

John 16:13 NLT

Why are you gambling away your life? 

Stop playing kalokalo with your life?

Are you a true child of God? 

Allow the Holy Spirit to be your guide!

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God."

Romans 8:14 NLT

How can I have a relationship with God?

1.Confess your sins to God. Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12

2.Ask that the blood of Jesus will cleanse you from all your sins. Hebrew 9:22, 1John 1:7-9.

3.Ask Jesus to come and reign in your life.

4.Forgive yourself and move on.  

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]."

2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP

5.Read your Bible and pray everyday.

6.Pray that God will lead you to a Bible believing church and fellowship with them.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come to you today; save me and I shall be saved. Heal me and I shall be healed. Forgive me of all my sins (confess them). Have mercy on me. Come and be the Lord over my spirit, soul and body. Help me not to go back to my old way of life - give me a new beginning. I am yours Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen
