Don't follow a stranger!

Parents tell their children not to listen to strangers, they're not allowed to talk to or follow strangers. I even tell my children that people they know can't pick them from school unless we prearranged it. So also, God doesn't want His children to listen to the voice of the stranger. He wants us to run away from him. 

"They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”

John 10:5 AMP

Who is this stranger?

The devil / Satan is the stranger. 

God wants us to have a close relationship with Him such that you will know when He is talking to you. Moreso, you will know when the devil is talking to you and you will be able to block his voice. Human mind is a battlefield, God speaks to us through our minds, the devil does as well, and then we have to choose who to listen to. God has given us the power of choice. Did you know this?
 How does the devil manifest?

• As wolve in sheep's clothing
• Can disguise as an angel
• Unfriendly friend
• Bad habits
• Illicit dealings
• With force and desperation
• Manipulation
• Confusion
• Deceit and many more...

It takes the grace and mercy of God to recognize the act and the voice of the devil.

There are false prophets out there asking people to do unimaginable things. Anyone in the name of God that ask you to do anything against the word of God is a false prophet. Flee from them!

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you dressed like sheep, but inside they are vicious wolves. You will know them by their fruit. Do people get bunches of grapes from thorny weeds, or do they get figs from thistles?"

How can I have a relationship with God?

1.Confess your sins to God. Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12

2.Ask that the blood of Jesus will cleanse you from all your sins. Hebrew 9:22, 1John 1:7-9.

3.Ask Jesus to come and reign in your life.

4.Forgive yourself and move on.  

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]."

2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP

5.Read your Bible and pray everyday.

6.Pray that God will lead you to a Bible believing church and fellowship with them.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come to you today; save me and I shall be saved. Heal me and I shall be healed. Forgive me of all my sins (confess them). Have mercy on me. Come and be the Lord over my spirit, soul and body. Help me not to go back to my old way of life - give me a new beginning. I am yours Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen
