Beware of what you see!

The number of people suffering from addiction is alarming! Drugs and alcohol are the substances most people talk about. However there are other types of addiction that are not as popular as illicit drugs and alcohol. A lot of children, youths and adults are struggling with sexual immorality. How did it start?

The first thing Eve perceived when the devil told her about the fruit is it's good to the eye. She saw it, it's pleasurable and desirable.The fruit became difficult to resist the moment she saw it. She touched it, ate it and shared the forbidden fruit with Adam. The consequence of this action was curse.

So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall  be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.” Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

What would've happened if she didn't look at the fruit?

1. She wouldn't have touched it. 
2. She would not taste it.
3. She would not share it.

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."

What you see, especially lustful scenes stay in your mind for a long time. This is why the devil is attacking human minds by bringing nude pictures everywhere around us be it on social media, entertainment and so on. This is deception of the highest order! The devil wants that lustful image to linger in your mind until you become addicted to looking at dirty pictures / videos and engaging in other forms of sexual immorality. If you don't stop this act, hell is waiting for you. 

But for the cowardly, the faithless, the vile, the murderers, those who commit sexual immorality, those who use drugs and cast spells, the idolaters and all liars—their share will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

Revelation 21:8 CEB

Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? 1 Corinthians 6:18‭-‬19 AMP

This world is more corrupt now than in the days of our ancestors - young children are now sharing their nude pictures on social media. This was unheard of decades ago. It's time to put an end to this demonic entanglement. If you will call upon the Lord today to deliver you; He will answer you and set you free.
If your right eye makes you stumble and leads you to sin, tear it out and throw it away [that is, remove yourself from the source of temptation]; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. If your right hand makes you stumble and leads you to sin, cut it off and throw it away [that is, remove yourself from the source of temptation]; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. Some steps you can take.

• Unplug - close your social media accounts and or block your accomplices.
• Get rid of all the dirty images in your possession
• Stop watching porn!
• Cut off your triggers e. g certain music, places or people that remind you of the old habits
• Run away from every sexual immorality
• Guard your eyes
• Study the word of God
• Pray
• Seek Godly counsel
• Don't be idle!
• Utilize Godly media: listen to Godly music, podcasts, and sermons

How can I have a relationship with God?

1.Confess your sins to God. Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12

2.Ask that the blood of Jesus cleanse you from all your sins. Hebrew 9:22, 1John 1:7-9.

3.Ask Jesus to come and reign in your life.

4.Forgive yourself and move on.  

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]."

2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP

5.Read your Bible and pray everyday.

6.Pray that God will lead you to a Bible believing church and fellowship with them.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come to you today; save me and I shall be saved. Heal me and I shall be healed. Forgive me of all my sins (confess them). Have mercy on me. Come and be the Lord over my spirit, soul, body and sexuality. Help me not to go back to my old way of life - give me a new beginning. I am yours Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Important Information

Giving your life to Jesus does not mean you will not experience challenges in life. Infact, you may be persecuted because of your faith in Jesus. You may experience pain, temptations, trials, disasters, loss and so on. In the event that any of these things happen to you, know assuredly that He is with you. The difference between you and an unbeliever is  God's promises - His presence and the ultimate reward which is eternity with Him in heaven.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you."

If you continue to be in good standing with God; when you die, you will go to heaven.
