The Cares and Worries of this World

It's good to aspire to be great, industrious, self sufficient, successful, prosperous and all the positive things you can think of. I often think we need to pause and think about how all these worries impact our relationship with God. Anything that draws you away from God should be avoided. God created you for a purpose. Are you fulfilling the purpose of God for your life or chasing shadows?

What are these Worries?

• Distractions

• Worldly pleasures

• False security of wealth

• False glamour of fame

• Passionate desires for unprofitable things.

And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word,  but the worries and cares of the world [the distractions of this age with its worldly pleasures], and the deceitfulness [and the false security or glamour] of wealth [or fame], and the passionate desires for all the other things creep in and choke out the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Mark 4:18‭-‬19 AMP

Worries are thorns that hinder the word of God from growing in the heart of man; once they come between you and God, you will become distant from Him. This is dangerous ⚠️

This is what Jesus says about worries -

Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing? And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? [Ps. 39:5-7.] But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

Don't allow the cares and worries of this world to separate you from God! 🙏
