I'm the only one

There's nothing new under the sun. Whatever is going on in your life has happened to someone before; it may not be one hundred percent the same but there would be at least a common denominator if you do your research well.

That which has been is that which will be [again], And that which has been done is that which will be done again. So there is nothing new under the sun.  Is there anything of which it can be said, “See this, it is new”? It has already existed for [the vast] ages [of time recorded or unrecorded] Which were before us.

Ecclesiastes 1:9‭-‬10 AMP

We often use phrases like "you're not alone" when we want to comfort someone going through a challenge. On the contrary, an individual can tell himself or herself "I'm the only one" - 'no one else has ever experienced this or that'. According to the Bible verses above this is a false claim. The fact is the devil wants you to believe that thought "I'm the only one".

The following are some of the common claims:

1.I'm the only virgin; no one keeps their virginity anymore. It's obsolete!

2. I'm the only one who doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs. Everyone around me does. I'm weird!

3. I'm the only one who prays, studies the Bible, fasts and evangelizes. We need to be friends with everyone by being politically correct.

4. I'm the only one who doesn't have this or that

5. I'm the only one who can't do this or that...

There was a man in the Bible called Elijah. After doing a great exploit for God, he became lonely, depressed, and suicidal because he thought he was the only one. The only one who worships God, the only one who is on the Lord's side, the only prophet who fears God. The list goes on. In contrast, God told him there are seven thousand prophets like him.

And he said, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of hosts; because the children of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left; and they seek to take my life.” Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him".

I Kings 19:14‭, ‬18 NKJV

Why do people believe they're the only one?

  1. Fear

  2. Peer pressure

  3. Intimidation

  4. They want people's approval more than God's approval

  5. Ignorance

...and so on.

If you're still a virgin no matter your age congratulations! Don't let peer pressure push you into fornication. Others want what you have but they're not being truthful to say it; instead they want you to be like them so they can feel better.  Same goes to other lifestyles that people consider being social such as smoking, alcohol and drug consumption. They're silent killers! Steer clear of deadly lifestyle!

You're not alone!

Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord , And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord ; trust in Him also and He will do it.  He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light, and your judgment like [the shining of] the noonday [sun].  Be still before the Lord ; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him; do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

Psalms 37:3‭-‬7 AMP

How can I have a relationship with God?
1.Confess your sins to God. Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12
2.Ask that the blood of Jesus will cleanse you from all your sins. Hebrew 9:22, 1John 1:7-9.
3.Ask Jesus to come and reign in your life.
4.Forgive yourself and move on.
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]."
2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP
5.Read your Bible and pray everyday.
6.Pray that God will lead you to a Bible believing church and fellowship with them.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I come to you today; save me and I shall be saved. Heal me and I shall be healed. Forgive me of all my sins (confess them). Have mercy on me. Come and be the Lord over my spirit, soul and body. Help me not to go back to my old way of life - give me a new beginning. I am yours Lord! In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Important Information

Giving your life to Jesus does not mean you will not experience challenges in life. Infact, you may be persecuted because of your faith in Jesus. You may experience pain, temptations, trials, disasters, loss and so on. In the event that any of these things happen to you, know assuredly that He is with you. The difference between you and an unbeliever is  God's promises - His presence and the ultimate reward which is eternity with Him in heaven.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you."

Isaiah 43:2 AMP

"Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

2 Corinthians 1:3‭-‬4 AMP

If you continue to be in good standing with God; when you die, you will go to heaven.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven."

Matthew 7:21 AMP
