Guilty as Charged
I have had to pay a few provincial violation tickets because I broke traffic laws - speeding tickets and a ticket for not wearing seatbelt. Although I was not happy to part with my money, but I still have to pay the fines because I was guilty.
As there are rules and laws governing each city and country in the world so also God has laws He wants mankind to follow. This is to promote peace and unity between God and man and among mankind. These laws are the ten commandments.
If you have lied before, you're a liar. If you steal, you're a thief. If you commit adultery or look at someone lustfully, you have broken God's law. If you don't respect your parents, if you covet, make an idol for yourself, or worship an idol, or don't love God, or speak blasphemy against God... you have broken the law. Anyone that breaks God's law will not go unpunished just as the authorities punish anyone that breaks the law in your area. The consequences of breaking God's law is eternal damnation - hell fire.
But as for the cowards and unbelieving and abominable [who are devoid of character and personal integrity and practice or tolerate immorality], and murderers, and sorcerers [with intoxicating drugs], and idolaters and occultists [who practice and teach false religions], and all the liars [who knowingly deceive and twist truth], their part will be in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
Revelation 21:8 AMP
The good news is that Jesus paid the fines for your sins so you can be discharged and acquitted. However, before you can be set free from condemnation in God's court, you need to acknowledge that you're guilty as charged, confess your sins to God, and repent.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18 NKJV
I'm guilty, what can I do?

Important Information
Giving your life to Jesus does not mean you will not experience challenges in life. Infact, you may be persecuted because of your faith in Jesus. You may experience pain, temptations, trials, disasters, loss and so on. In the event that any of these things happen to you, know assuredly that He is with you. The difference between you and an unbeliever is God's promises - His presence and the ultimate reward which is eternity with Him in heaven.
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you."

"Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 AMP
If you continue to be in good standing with God; when you die, you will go to heaven.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 7:21 AMP
